1996: L. R. Consulting and Training, was founded by Lydia Roux in Kempton Park.
The company was known as L.R.C.T. and later registered as such. The acronym represented the words "Leadership, Recruitment, Consulting, Training".
The company provided training in various fields. One of the focus areas was the set up of Call Centres and training of agents, as this new concept in South Africa swept through the market place. Leadership training was also a core focus for the company. Recruitment and business consulting were the other main activities.
As managing director, Lydia did much for the empowerment of women, as she passionately believes in the woman's abilities to enrich the business world. Currently Lydia is still very much involved in this field and has been featured in magazines, newspapers, on radio and television, whilst championing this cause.
Some of Lydia's other achievements are:
1998: Chosen as the chairperson of the SA Management Institute.
1999: One of the six finalists in the "Mrs. SA Business Executive Of The Year" awards for outstanding entrepreneurship and business acumen.
2000: A finalist again in the same competition.
2004: Nominated in the Checkers and SABC 2 Women Of The Year award.
In 2006 L.R.C.T. celebrated its 10th birthday with a stylish breakfast bash at Emperor's Palace. Great excitement reigned as the attendees were treated to excellent motivational speaking and gifts.
During the same year a coaching seminar was hosted by the company and this burning issue was discussed by top delegates.
2007 was a very exciting year for the company, as it initiated and hosted the "Woman in the Workplace" competition. Part of Lydia's dream is to empower all women, not only those in leadership. Everyone had a chance to enter and the winner was announced at a gala event, attended by some of the leading business people in South Africa. The event attracted much attention and was featured in the top newspapers.
During this year the company distinguished itself at the annual HR exhibition, where its regular stall featured a new look, representing it's warmth and professionalism.
Another big occurrence for the company in this year was the founding of it's sister company, Cape Talent Management Solutions, in Cape Town.
In 2008 the company underwent a name change and the new name is now Gauteng Talent Management Solutions, (Pty) Ltd. The company still focuses on training, recruitment and business consulting.
One of the first activities undertook by Gauteng Talent Management Solutions, was arranging a leadership conference at Gallagher Estates with Lydia as the speaker. Many top companies were represented there, all fully appreciating being equipped with new skills and enjoying the receipt of several gifts.
Annual workshops are arranged by the company and held across the country with Lydia as popular speaker with the aim of empowering all Women in Business.
Lydia and the other staff members eagerly grasp every opportunity to make an impact on the business world as Gauteng Talent Management Solutions moves forward from strength to strength.
